Welcome to An Angel at my Table'. This, our new website, is still proving to be a labour of love - please bear with us as we discover all the teething problems and don't forget that we are a very small (6 people/1dog) family-run company who really do bend over backwards to offer something different! Our current catalogue (unfortunately now out of print) is a labour of love with new finds alongside old favourites displayed amongst our lovely English and French furniture ranges - many pieces of which are available in bespoke colours and fabrics.

Much time is spent sourcing and designing our product selection which we hope remains quirky, unusual and individual - some of our products have a definite 'artisanal' quality about them; please bear in mind that sometimes our selection criteria is based on originality more than perfection! We are off to find more lovely things this Spring and hope you will continue to enjoy our unique collection of furniture. fripperies and petits folies.

A VERY SHORT HISTORY...

We opened our first shop in Saffron Walden in Essex in 1997 selling painted furniture and French style accessories - it was soon followed by the second shop in London, however, it soon became clear that we were spreading ourselves too thin - buying trips, shop displays, occasionally producing a catalogue, often delivering fragile pieces ourselves (as some of our customers can ascertain!) and as we also did photographic shoots for other companies - it was all too much, especially when our beloved London shop was hit simultaneously with loss of local parking and an untenable rent increase - we decided it was time to regroup, retreat to the countryside and concentrate on a web and catalogue business!
